Pros and cons of CourseNotes app for iPhone and iPad

CourseNotes app good for

4 Stars for a really good product. It changes a lot and seriously makes school life easier. Actually I would give you 5 Stars but then there is no motivation left to build in these features. These features are still missing : one to do list for all subjects, a keyboard for maths (if that is possible), more subject icons, ability to zoom in and out the inserted pictures and please redo the lexicon because the idea is great, but the permutation is average. Thanks for this app
Hi there, Nixe Beautiful made application! Good ideas for school using and even a Mac application ! Well done guys. Ok but in the app there is still potential. You should add: - add more pictures in one note ( to adjust the position, text wrap, adjust the size of in application picture, by clicking original a screen filling size, paint in pictures, crop taken pictures) - add voice recording ( because my teacher sometimes tAlk important things for the next test too fast ) I look forward to a small update !!! Keep on doing guys you make good stuff !!!!
I am a teacher. The works well for me. I use for planning and keeping records. Sync by way of iCloud would make perfect for my purposes.
I use this app nearly every day at the university. I like the way that notes are organised (in sessions, per Subject and per date). A real useful fact is that youre able to create an unordered list (which is so important at school!) My wishes for the next update: - free drawings in the text (e.g. Boxes that you can drag free) - important: Backup via Dropbox ! The eMail-"Backup"-feature is really old-fashioned.
Cant use finger to write/add stuff (which would be nice) iCloud missing Rest is Nice and Works Only These two Things are missing To Make it Awesome !
I was 7 days into my iPad experience and was going to return it. As nice as it was, I couldnt find anything that it really did to bring me value. So, the day before i was going to return it, I downloaded this app, and hit a lecture on campus. I LOVED IT! This app actually tipped my decision! It was really easy to learn how to use - I figured it all out just before the lecture started. The ability to email notes out and insert images is pretty wonderful. I wish: A) i could bold/italicize/underline text B) insert drawings directly into the notes as opposed to attaching Them to notes. I couldnt figure out how to increase the size of the sketching pad. C) ability to use google to find things instead of wikipedia only D) it would be very cool if I could draw lines in my notes to connect things. Tables and bullet points would be super cool too. Overall, probably the best app Ive downloaded. Like I said, its why I kept my iPad.

Some bad moments

...I was a wasted of Money! Till today it is not possible to record audio notes, to draw full screen sketches like Notes Plus, to insert mathematic formulas and so on. To work with PDFs not possible! I dont know where this should be useful, I think it is still faster to write with a stylus as with the keyboard. Good bye course notes! There are better apps and the developers there are always listening to their customers.
Not that handy as it seams. Working on PDFs is the most important feature for students. It s not possible with CourseNotes. So ve wasted may money!
When attaching a photo to the "sketch note" function and then writing notes beside it, or even drawing a brand new sketch within the sketch note function, there is no way of viewing that photo unless youre on the iPad. I emailed my class lecture along with my drawings to my hotmail and the only thing i could see was the text; The photo was replaced with a grey box. I am VERY disappointed. Edit: If you attach photos into the application then send it out, the photos wont be see on hotmail. However, if you email the photos without using this app then hotmail can recognize it. I also tried loading it on my macbook and it doesnt show up. If you use the app then the photos ONLY show up on your iPad.
I like the organizational capabilities but there are quite a few things that I think need improvement. Theres no rich text editing so I cant bold or underline important points. The bullets feature is not very intuitive. When using bullets, if you type more than one line within a bullet point the second line is not indented so it makes it difficult to read when studying. Plus, if you try to indent the second line, the layout is different in the edit view versus when viewing it in the notes window so it creates weird gaps in the bullet point. To indent a bullet you cant just press tab, you have to press the bullet button which is on the top left of the screen. Its just not very efficient but I think with future updates it could be really useful.
Needs improvement on the drawing board. I.e. position them in your notes, add MORE THAN ONE.
Very frustrating. Lost 6 sets of notes from classes. Just completely disappeared from my folders. Due to this serious malfunction I have chosen another app to do my note taking.
